I agree with the Abbey Road, Let It Be and Revolver sets, but hard disagree on the Sgt Pepper and White album ones. Just on the white album one alone there is a new mix, the entirety of the esher demos (27 tracks), 3 CDs worth of outtakes and sessions... See full review

The US tape copies used to cut Sabbath records had a lot of EQ done to them, specifically on the upper end. This might be the better way to go for your preferences honestly, unless you want to shell out big bucks for the OG UK pressings.

If the MP3 sounds better then I think you need to adjust your setup. I have a modest setup and it sounds fantastic on mine. RKS makes fantastic cuts of albums.

Not a well recorded album, but this pressing brings the best out of a mediocre recording. In your face, great low end, and across the board a great mastering job. I don't have a US pressing but sold my RKS 2011 pressing to pick this up. The RKS is a... See full review

pHarmanaut, this came out in 2018 before AI generation was widespread and started producing somewhat decent results, so I think its just an objectively weird (and imo BAD) drawing/painting of Hendrix. It looks hideous. Its even worse than the First... See full review

Just wait for a black vinyl version. Same thing happened with 3001, just wait a few more months for by the unofficial version with G Tearz.

Yeah, on the DR database it has a DR reading of 8 while the 1992 and 2011 masters have a 10 or 11.

I don't have this pressing but it looks awesome. That alternate cover looks pretty f'ing cool. And it has the matrixes for a first UK pressing. It would be cool to own one of these for sure.

Yeah I'm confused. I have no idea how the 2022 version is beating out the 2010. I have the 2010 and have a first UK, I used to have a US reissue from probably around '74-'76. What are some other pressings you'd recommend?... See full review

Sounds great on my copy, but Side A is seriously pressed off center. The end of side a is unlistenable.

I used to have this pressing, I think the porky pecko pressing is the winner in a comparison between the two. The bass is a little bit more defined and not as boomy I guess. Did this on a Fluance RT85 with the Ortofon Blue with vintage dynaco speakers... See full review

I’ve heard lossless rips from the original warner bros., the Castle, and the 2009 remaster and I prefer this one out of all of them. A little less dynamic range than the castle but I think the EQ choices make up for that.

Much better mix than the mono, but a lot of people already know that. You can't go wrong with the one box reissues, they sound killer and still have that vintage sound for a more reasonable price. Plus, this one has the flipbacks which is a bonus.
The Beatles - With The Beatles

I bought a sealed copy of this, so it's dead quiet with no groove wear. I normally opt for mono on the earlier albums, especially their first two, but this mastering sounds FANTASTIC here.
The Beatles - Revolver

I first heard the remix digitally and wasn't a fan, as it had a digital "sheen" over it. Not Giles/Sam Okell's fault, but it's probably due to the AI technology separating the tracks on certain tracks. This vinyl version is superb and sounds great.... See full review

Terrific pressing. As someone on a different album stated that the original UK monos emphasize the vocals more and the 2014 mono reissues (the only other pressing I own) emphasize the lower end. This is a LOUD cut, and the 2014 is definitely more... See full review

Good instrument separation on this one and is balanced well, but lacking a lot of the energy that's present on the 2014 mono. I would assume an original stereo or a 70's reissue would sound great.

By far the best pressing of this album I have heard. I can only compare the 1975, 1977 and 2014 US reissues. Lots of low end and the high end was mastered tremendously. My '77 copy was a bit shrill on the top end and didn't have a lot of bass.

The album was recorded at Sounds Interchange Studios in Toronto. Why do you think the UK pressing would sound any better?

Because they probably took the master tape back to the UK and sent a copy tape to the US like they always did. See full review
