The Best-Selling Records on Discogs in 2025 So Far

Dig into the best-selling records of 2025 so far on Discogs, featuring Taylor Swift, Charli XCX, Oasis, and more.
Maybe we’re biased here at Discogs, but at the halfway point of 2025, it feels more vital than ever to sit down, support artists, and spin records. The rise of the Velvet Sundown, a fully AI-generated band that recently surpassed a million monthly Spotify listeners, sparked fierce debate about authenticity, creativity, and the role of technology in music. It comes on the heels of reports revealing that companies are creating fake artists to pump streaming numbers to save money.
In a landscape like this, every vinyl sale feels like an important act of intention. That’s part of what makes this year’s best-selling records so fascinating. Many dropped during Record Store Day, a global celebration of physical media, local shops, and the music community. Some collaborated on special releases. Others paid tribute to their heroes. Rare stories resurfaced, and live performances became available for the living room turntable.
Beyond the splashy RSD moments, the charts tell a quieter story, one of rediscovery and old school recommendation. Sade’s Diamond Life, more than 40 years after its release, remains a Discogs community staple. Massive Attack’s Blue Lines and Mezzanine continue to find new generations of fans. And Cindy Lee’s hypnagogic tour de force, Diamond Jubilee, bypassed streaming entirely and made waves through word of mouth alone.
If the first half of the year is any indication, the next six months are going to be just as surprising, and we hope, full of meaningful records and mindful listening sessions.

#1
“Fortnight”
Taylor Swift & Post Malone
2025
Every RSD has its one release to rule them all. This past Black Friday RSD, it was Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard and Soft (Isolated Vocals). Last year, Olivia Rodrigo and Noah Kahan’s Stick Season / Lacy split took the spotlight. For 2025, it was “Fortnight.”
Just months after earning six Grammy nominations, Taylor Swift released her Tortured Poets Department single featuring Post Malone on vinyl. The B-side included Blond:ish’s remix, making its vinyl debut.
Swift has long embraced the vinyl revival, even serving as global Record Store Day ambassador in 2022. “Fortnight” now joins what’s becoming one of the most celebrated runs of RSD releases in recent memory. It quickly became one of the fastest-selling RSD exclusives of the year, further proof that Swift moves records as easily as she moves charts.
#2
Tribute To Nirvana
Post Malone
2025
Post Malone was the ultimate Record Store Day ambassador this year. His collaboration with Taylor Swift topped the charts, but his Tribute To Nirvana release wasn’t far behind, ranking as the second best-selling record on Discogs so far in 2025.
Originally recorded in 2020 as a livestream benefit for the World Health Organization, Tribute To Nirvana finally arrived on vinyl for this year’s RSD. Backed by a band that included Travis Barker on drums, Malone tackled the grunge icons’ catalog with surprising reverence and raw energy. The setlist spanned crowd favorites like “Come As You Are” and “Heart-Shaped Box,” along with deeper cuts like In Utero’s “Very Ape” and Nevermind’s “Territorial Pissings.”
#3
“Guess”
Charli XCX, Billie Eilish
2025
When Billie Eilish‘s guest verse on Charli XCX‘s “Guess” dropped last year, it set the stage for this RSD release’s inevitable arrival. Packaged in recycled, cardboard-like material, pressed on biovinyl, with a blank label, this is a no frills release, which stands in stark contrast to the typical RSD release rollout — very on-brand for Brat.
The record quickly struck a chord with fans and collectors alike. In the days after RSD, “Guess” was the most Wantlisted record from the day, doubling the amount of “Fortnight.” This wasn’t just a few day blowout, either. Months later, copies continue to change hands steadily on the Discogs Marketplace, proving its lasting appeal.
#4
Lover (Live From Paris)
Taylor Swift
2025
Taylor Swift started 2025 with a vice grip on the best-selling charts, thanks to a highly anticipated reissue of her 2023 release, Lover (Live From Paris). This edition features two heart-shaped records: one pink and yellow, the other pink and blue — a distinctive change from the original’s standard pink and blue vinyl.
Fans had a limited 72-hour window starting Jan. 7 to preorder the reissue directly through Swift’s website.
After shipments went out, fans who missed the preorder turned to Discogs, driving steady marketplace demand. The record remained a fixture on the weekly best-selling charts through early March, including a timely sales boost around Valentine’s Day.
#5
Time Flies… 1994-2009
Oasis
2025
After shocking lads everywhere with their reunion announcement, it felt natural that Oasis would reissue their career-spanning compilation, Time Flies. First dropped in 2010, this fresh anniversary edition comes packed with the same tracks as the original across four colored records. The release is as bold as the band themselves it’s a brash statement with bombastic Britpop and all the lanky swagger that comes with it.
Musically, Time Flies has something for every type of Oasis fan. For the singles’ lovers, it’s got “Supersonic,” “Wonderwall,” and “Don’t Look Back in Anger.” For the fans who prefer a deep cut, there’s the non-album single, “Lord Don’t Slow Me Down,” and lesser-known (but still hugely popular) songs like “Hindu Times.” There’s even something for team Liam members, “I’m Outta Time,” the only song in the set to feature his writing credit.
