Slowdive – Pygmalion

I'm reading here & there this thing has been pressed on the dredded 'BioVinyl'.
I haven't seen a hype sticker mentioning it though...
Can anyone confirm?

Quiet music and an extremely noisy pressing...not a great combination. Sounds great and obviously the music is hypnotic and moving as always. I am returning this and trying a replacement copy, which will hopefully be better.

Edit: Replacement copy is just as noisy. Reluctantly giving up on this one. What a shame.

This sounds fantastic. Purchased new this week. Hearing space and tiny details never picked up before (on my CD version). Heavy flat vinyl. Indifferent to the colour but it's fine, happened to be the one my local shop had in, but so pleased with the audio...

While I like the reflective/mirrored sleeve and pretty much everything else about this reissue, I feel it was completely ruined by the scale of the reproduced cover art. Compared to the original Creation LP (or even the lackluster MOV reissues), the Steven Woodhouse cover illustrations are incorrectly scaled and positioned, as is the typography. It appears that they used scans or proofs of the CD insert to recreate this cover. Had they gotten the artwork right, this probably would have been the best reissue of this album on vinyl. To date, the original Creation pressing remains the definitive LP version of this release.

If anyone has a copy of this or anything of the unofficial variants, please pm me! Very cool that this pressing has some of the deluxe tracks too, even if sound quality isn’t perfect

Really nice pressing this. Definitely the most quiet and best sounding of the recent re-releases.

Beautiful album and an almost perfect pressing. Besides the fact mines a misprint, side a and side b a re mixed up. Kind of annoys me!

While it sounds no better than the green marbled edition MOV did, this is quite a beautiful re-pressing with all MOV usual qualities. NO ONE consistently presses couloured vinyl in this quality like Record Industry and this is no exception. It also sounds really really good!
Buy with confidence!

To anyone interested, there is also an official purple marble dutch release of 2000 copies dated 26-7-2024.
Sound is incredible, no clicks pops nothing. Crystal clear pressing. 100% recommended.

In my opinion the blueprint in approaching the topic of ambient on vinyl.

Perfectly flat and incredibly silent for the price which considering the music is a must. Combined with an impeccable mastering makes this one pretty hard to beat.

Listening to "Rutti" alone is a sonical experience. The sound is immersive and fills out everything around you.

Hats off to MOV for giving this ambient gem (imho the best album of Slowdive) the treatment it deserves.
