For these prices, just buy a first Japanese pressing with the Obi. Over $100 for a reissue is absurd.

These 2013 reissues of all his albums are absolutely superb. Pretty decent dynamic range (in the age of over compression and brick walling, these aren't too bad), good EQ, high quality inserts, etc. I have 0 complaints about them. Universal and Masayoshi's team knocked these out of the park. I currently have Seychelles, Brasilian Skies, An Insatiable High, and The Rainbow Goblins in my collection with Takanaka, T-Wave, Alone and Open All Summer (夏・全・開) on order.

I feel bad for the poor soul who just paid $140 for this album that's about to be repressed.

This pressing looks and sounds great. Will be holding on to this for a long time.

I cannot say enough good things about this. It sounds like they're in the room next to me, and the vinyl is DEAD silent. I'm keeping this forever.

These 2024 reissues sound great, I like this one even better than An Insatiable High. Very cranklable but clear, spacious and detailed.
The only issue is the longer B side puts Tropic Birds at inner groove distortion territories which is audible but not as bad as "Good (Bad?) Old Days" or the Yamashita reissues.

Sounds amazing. Uncompressed, dead-quiet vinyl (important for the slower/quieter passages of the album), clear separation, great dynamics. Like mentioned below, the volume is not low like the reissue of Brasilian Skies (also released in 2023) is. I am not sure an OG beats this and I don't even feel the need to find out. This is the real deal! A keeper for sure.

An absolutely excellent album, likely one of Takanaka's best.
I don't think there is a weak track on this album. Just wonderfully melodic guitars that will instantly make your summer evenings better.

If you're looking to get into Takanaka, I would start here. Easily accessible, airy strings and guitars make this a joy to listen to time and time again.

This pressing, as per usual for the Kitty Takanaka albums, is solid. Nothing to complain about there.
