Reviews
- My town doesn't have a single copy because no one listens to her, not even Black Hills Vinyl 😭 don't ever visit Rapid City SD 😂
- I'm so happy to finally have FROOT on vinyl!
However...
This could have been so much more, especially for the price asked. At the very least they gave us anti-static sleeves. But this album deserved at least a lyric sheet... If not a booklet with photos or movie video stills.
But when it comes to vinyl, the most important thing to me is the sound quality. And this is kind of a mixed bag I'd say. While Happy or Solitaire sound absolutely incredible, the title track sounds average, then there's Blue with random sibilance during verses and then there's INHA, which sounds like a leak that fan would upload on YouTube. Eh :/
Add a different font for INHA on the back cover and non existant tropical scent on the sticker and you get a pretty disappointing release. But like I said, I'm very glad to finally own this on vinyl. Could have been so much more especially since Marina teased it over a year ago already though. - Got rid of my old one as soon as they announced that this album was getting a 2lp release. No regrets
- you'd think because it's 10 years of FROOT that there would be better packaging than just two records in a widespine sleeve, but it is what it is. overlooking that, the color is cute and the sound quality is nice. a little surface noise here and there, but not enough to disturb the listening experience. i raised the volume up and enjoyed every second of it! i'm happy to have my favorite MARINA album in my collection!
- The sleeve/jacket is such flimsy cardboard material, I’m sure most people’s copies have at least one minor imperfection on the jacket. Comment here with what your copy has to make everyone feel better! Mine has a bump on the top edge and some minor creasing on the righthand side of the back cover
- Does anyone elses copy have this issue on Blue where the letter "s" sounds weird on the verses? It sounds completely fine on the chorus.
But other than that the sound quality is amazing. Songs like Forget and Gold sound insane. Packaging is very disappointing. I really wish we would've gotten printed inners or at least an insert with some photos from the photoshoot. - Edited 3 days agoThe packaging is beyond disappointing. However, I’m willing to overlook it because the sound quality is such a massive improvement over the original pressing. Having this spread over 4 sides with a bonus track is a real treat, as it sounds far less compressed, more dynamic and more open than the original 1LP, with the exception of some sibilance present on the verses of Blue. My copy has some very mild patches of non-fill between tracks, but it’s completely drowned out by the music so it’s not an issue. Only a few sporadic pops and clicks. I was a little worried that the eco vinyl would be low quality but I’m very happy to have been proven wrong. The packaging may be bare bones but you’re rewarded with superior sound quality.
- Absolute insanity that given this era's amazing album photo shoot, they couldn't be bothered to make a gatefold or any inserts - especially for the price. That being said, this sounds a lot better than the old pressing and the transparent red actually does work with the album aesthetic and we finally have INHA.
