What an outstanding pressing & packaging. All vinyl releases should be handled with this much detail and care. Sounds great and looks great. Highly recommend this one. Honestly glad I didn’t pull the trigger on the OG I saw a few months back for over $200!- Edited 4 months agoMine came from Amazon. Stated in description it was black but it was green translucent. It was in standard sealed shrink and not an open bag. Records were perfect.
Edited 6 months agoSaying that I am pleased with my copy would be an absolute understatement. I am completely floored and am at a loss for words. Every single song here is so much more expansive and heavy than I’ve ever heard it. Yeah, it’s that good. I have no complaints whatsoever.
Also ordered mine direct from Polyvinyl and it came sealed. It did not come with its own outer sleeve.
Edited 6 months agoOrdered directly from polyvinyl, and as mentioned by others it came unsealed. The inner liners are not paper, but I'm not sure if they're the "bad" vinyl that you want to avoid for long storage. Regardless, they were both badly creased from being shoved into the jacket and I'll be replacing them with proper poly lined sleeves. Despite this, both disc's were in perfect condition and played flawlessly. The pressing sounds fantastic. One of my favorite records in my collection.- Just got this for Christmas and good lord is it amazing. The deep green looks amazing on both discs and the sound is insane probably one of the best in my collection.
You can still buy this on polyvinyl for $40, do not overpay on here.
You’d Prefer an Astronaut is not available on streaming in Australia, whenever I listen to this LP, it’s on YouTube, so I was used to low quality audio for this album. This pressing is so clean and clear, it really changed the way I hear Hum. 👌
As others have said below, absolutely excellent release here. Sound is fantastic and outstanding quality control on the actual pressing with just about zero surface noise on both LPs. Get yourself a copy if you can. Happy to add this one to my collection.
