Reviews
My favorite Tatsuro Yamashita album. The sound staging is very... Spacy... If you will. Well done mixing. Side B is heaven. Removing a star for some very slight background noise throughout the record (new), though might go away with a deep clean.- Personally, the added song explanations and commentary in the notes add so much value to these represses for me. It's really nice to read while listening through the songs. I find him very honest and likeable, thank you Tatsu!
Fantastic sounding. Quality package. A very quiet play, too! Happy to have this and Tatsuro's other recent reissues.
Edited one year agoThis sounds absolutely wonderful. The original must be mind blowing to top this because I'm thoroughly impressed with this reissue. Highly recommend everyone pick this up
Original is better than this, unfortunately. Still better than the average reissue because Tatsuro is artisan of making high quality sound vinyl.- Even though not an AAA pressing (as far as I'm concerned), sound is fantastic. A lot more bang for the buck in my opinion than the "For You" reissue, which is partly due to the mastering which is a lot better on Spacy in general.
However, all the hype aside that this finally got a vinyl reissue and judging only the sound quality, I'd say that the 2002 CD gets you 90% to this reissue on vinyl (having a good CD player is mandatory though).
Nonetheless, the vinyl outperforms the CD in dynamics and groove. Recommended! (the OBI not being transparent is a bummer though) - Edited one year agoIf you're interesting in music, this pressing is very good. Sound is clear and dynamic. They did a good job imo.
