Performed with Barry Harris (2) (1949-1952), Frank Rosolino (1954), Art Blakey, Curtis Fuller, Paul Quinichette, Clifford Brown, Pony Poindexter, Donald Byrd, Kenny Dorham, and Yusef Lateef among others, and in his own bands.
He recorded albums as a leader for Savoy Records, Blue Note and JAZZLAND between 1958 and 1962.
