- I own a very strange version of this pressing. Ordered from mbv's official website, I bought both loveless and mbv deluxe versions. I'm pretty sure I remember the sticker on the shrinkwrap confirming that this was the full analogue cut. However, later I realised that all the rest of the packaging indicates that my copy is the standard digital version??? It says rewig159 on the spine, it's just a standard sleeve (not card like my copy of mbv is), sleeve also states vinyl is cut by heino leja and the centre stickers on the record are for the standard version. The strange thing is... the record itself appears to be the deluxe version! The runouts match what is stated on this page, cut by Matt@alchemy. My copy sounds amazing so no complaints there. I guess I have a rare misprint 🙃
- I'll go against the grain and say that I hardly ever listen to this record, it sounds much worse to me than either the 2010s analogue mastered CD or recent Hi Res remaster. It has a very deep and satisfying midrange, but detail utterly collapses on the more ambient leaning side two, especially thanks to heavy IGD. Stick to Digital.
- Hearing the low end of the bass guitar and more weight of the snare totally changed what I thought of this album sonically.
It doesn’t have the typical audiophile wide soundstage, separation, air between instruments and deep layers but it’s dynamic and presented beautifully to create a texture that is heard to describe in words. The distortion sounds warm, the vocal sounds like I am hearing it directly from a tape recorder and the rhythm section, while ambient, has a drive that I have never heard on any digital format.
Flat, noiseless disc and excellent gatefold reproduction. - Edited 2 months agoHearing this analog master makes me feel like I've FINALLY heard Loveless for the first time ever... even though I've listened to the album 1000 times across other formats for 25 years now. I have a new appreciation for Debbie's bass playing. It is so much more fascinating, articulate, and beautiful than I ever realized!
I'm so impressed with how different THIS Loveless sounds compared to my old CD and my Japaneese vinyl bootleg. The music is still as gorgeous, but somehow, this analog remaster has taken us to new depths, enhanced the separation, and widened the sound stage too. Full immersion. The kick drums... they cut through so much more without sounding compressed or overdone.
A swirling fuchsia bliss portal end 2 end! Also: this is the most revews I've ever seen on a single discogs page! - Edited 2 months agoStomps my 2003 pressing into shoegazing dirt. Almost startling in its analog brilliance, I’m just writing this so I can say analOG twice. Cover art is not as vibrant as the 2003 press; has a cello lined inner which is nice. Stamped center too. Very slight visual warp but not obtrusive or playback effecting. Wish I had the inserts like their follow up companion but not a dealbreaker. Play it loud for your neighbors and open a time portal, set things right, gorgeous, stunning and seductive, this is the one

BK Electronics XLS300 Subwoofer - Put the record on the turntable, turn at maximum the volume knob and "bon voyage" in another dimension. One of the best rock record of the 90's, pure ethereal and noisy magic.
- Edited 7 months agoVacuum album is love🤤Vacuum album is life😩 - I don't even care about losing my virginity anymore, there’s no need after finding this.
Sound quality is great (how the fuck would you even tell if this album is defective anyways? lol), although you have to turn it up a fair bit to get it nice & immersive, but you should always be playing this album as loud as a jet engine, loud enough to override your own soul. Packaging looks great too; never seen such a simple glossy finish work so well, like glass or cherry hard candy; an absolutely beautiful thing all around👌 - Great, but ever so slightly dish warped. Not a huge deal….. but I’m tired of this when I pay for a premium product. I really am
